Welcome Center Attendant 

Position Summary:

With a heart for serving the community, deliver second-mile service to all members and guests. While modeling the YMCA core values, respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs, and maintain cleanliness of the facility.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides second-mile service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone.

  • Greet and assist all members, potential members, program participants and staff in a courteous, positive and professional manner. Be enthusiastic towards members by learning their names and expressing an interest in their YMCA activities.

  • Builds relationships with members; connect with members and help members connect with one another and to the YMCA.

  • Assist existing and prospective members regarding their individual membership needs.

  • Provide membership and program information and requirements in an accurate and courteous manner.

  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services

  • Maintain cleanliness of facility

  • Passion, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and commitment to the YMCA’s values and mission.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. 
  • Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
  • Must present a professional image, attitude and demeanor.
  • Must have problem solving, conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgement and initiative.
  • Certifications: CPR within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of computers.
