Our Youth Community Action Program (YCAP) is an evidence-based program that works intensively with at risk youth (ages 12-17) and their families, enhancing their mental, educational, social and physical development and by helping them reach their fullest potential through Christ. Students are added to the program on a referral basis. To truly promote the growth of youth into well-rounded young men and women, Y-CAP will specifically focus on the goals of improving academic performance, delinquent behavior reduction, substance abuse prevention and improvement of attitudes and self-esteem.
In this program youth will have strict programming consisting of substance abuse education, counseling, mentoring, tutoring, and structured meals. Youth will be bussed after school and dropped off at the YMCA.
There are certain criminal charges that we cannot accept in the program. Sexual charges, aggravated charges, most felony charges.
