Key benefits of working with a trainer include the chance to perform effective and innovative cross-training workouts specifically designed to achieve your goals and learn about key exercise principles that can guide you the rest of your life. Your trainer can also help you turn your weaknesses into strengths and provide the necessary accountability, motivation and encouragement you need to succeed.
My name is Nina Weston and I have been a member of the YMCA team for over 8 years. I am currently
Fitness and Wellness Director, Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Adaptive Fitness
Coach, Special Olympics Powerlifting Coach, Group Fitness & Aquatics Instructor, Adaptive Swim
Instructor and NASM Nutrition Coach. I have worked with those with Special Needs for over 6 years and
am currently working on obtaining Arthritis and Cancer Specialist Certification. I currently work with all
fitness levels and ages 13 and over in the personal training spectrum.
I have not always been healthy. A friend started taking me to her gym in my late 30’s and I fell in love
with fitness. I then started to realize that I wanted to teach fitness and was offered a position at our
YMCA. I love working at our YMCA and I love the sense of community. I started teaching group fitness at
44 years old and became a trainer at 47 years old. I wanted to become healthier and start helping others
and showing individuals that you can achieve this at any age. I have been overweight and underweight.
But now I approach fitness as being comfortable in my own skin through nutrition and exercise. I can
help you become a better athlete or just help you increase endurance, ADL’s and help you create a
healthier lifestyle.
